Sometimes when we want something, there is no evidence of it in our lives and even worse, sometimes there is not even an inkling that what we want will ever happen. For many people, that’s the situation right now in the US political realm. These people want a respectful leadership that honours things: diversity, human right, the environment. Unfortunately, this doesn’t look too likely in the foreseeable future. In dark times, we need to find ways to stay loyal to our dreams and aspirations.

Here are some ways to do that:

  1. Don’t be discouraged by the lack of ‘evidence’. Evidence is related to matter and all thing exist in the non-material plane before they show up in the mortar and bricks of physicality.
  2. Pull your attention away from what’s happening ‘out there’ and focus on taking full responsibility for what you can create in your own realm of living. Even if our political leaders are disrespectful and dishonouring, WE can create honour and respect in our own worlds. As Gandhi said, “Be the example.”
  3. Purposely scan for the good. I take time every day, especially when I’m out walking, to look for things that are beautiful. Nature never lets me down.
  4. Don’t under-estimate the importance of the light within you to make the world a better place. One candle can dispel a great deal of darkness. If we let the darkness we see ‘out there’ get inside us, the darkness has won. 5 Practice self-mastery. Being in charge or your emotions and thoughts is a crucial skill in these challenging times. In my opinion, there’s no better teacher than Peter Sage’s course called UltimatesSelfMastery.com. You get an inspiring teaching every week for a year plus a monthly group coaching call.
