A Great Brain Hack

Are you a bit self-righteous about being an early riser? I am. Or was! But this brain hack helped.

I have a friend who comes to visit and often stays a few days.I usually go to bed early and get up early. He goes to bed late and gets up late.

Sometimes I catch myself being self-righteous about being a supposed ‘go getter’. I’ve even caught myself judging him as lazy.

Brain Hacks Can Flip Your Negative Thinking in Seconds:

Then I developed a great brain hack to turn this situation around. I knew what I didn’t like about him going to bed late and getting up late, so I decided to flip the game board and ask myself what I DID like about him going to be late and getting up late.

Many things came up but the most important was that this gave me the sacred silence time I so cherish in the morningsl This is when I do my practices and meditation and it’s important to me.  It also allowed me to not be concerned about the wood stove as he’s up to feed it late at night so when I arise, the house is cozy….

Who would have guessed this upside?

I now use this hack for other things I tell myself I don’t like. It has a great way of overturning any thinking that doesn’t serve. Try it. Just take something you don’t like and ask yourself what’s likable about it. And watch things flip around.
