Change is Hard. How To Make It Easy-er
Many of us use the New Year as a time to create change. We’re tired of the old ways of doing things and yearn to make renovations. To feel fresh and back in charge. If you want to make your efforts successful, make sure they have these elements:
*you have built in accountability. Unfortunately, it’s easier for us to let ourselves down than somebody else. So figure this truth in and use it to your advantage. Make sure you have people you are reporting in with. Studies show it makes a huge difference.
*you are aware of your mind set and using brain hacks to help you disrupt the old patterns and install the new ones. For example, realizing that our neuroprogramming makes all new things feel a bit strange and uncomfortable –consider for a moment how awkward it would feel to start writing with your nondominant hand. If you understand the brain science involved in making change, it will make things easier. Otherwise you’re trying to run a new program on an old computer. It will make things much harder. By the way, using a coach can really make a difference in this area.
*consistency It takes time to embed new pathways in the body and brain. At least 30 days. So give yourself some time and be as consistent as you can.
